On Saturday 9th January, it was the EPIC day out to Exeter, which involved me (Ross), Katherine, Margaret, Vicky and Jake.
Although the weather wasn’t very good with it raining and really windy, we kept our spirits high and embraced the lovely weather. On the journey up we had a think about what we wanted to do in our day, we decided on visiting the cathedral café, stopping off for lunch and visiting a few shops as it was Kath’s mum’s birthday the next day so we needed to find a present! When we arrived, the first port of call was a warm drink and a slice of cake in the Cathedral café, which we found out was the original home of the Cathedral’s monks! Even after a slice of cake we decided we would go for lunch so we went to The Coffee Pot. Over lunch, we decided that some of us wanted to do different things; the girls wanted to shop and us boys wanted to look at guitars. We went to Mansons and I saw a really nice 4 string Ibanez bass guitar which I tried, it sounded awesome; I want one for myself now. After this we then met up with the others in Wilkinson's (for another cup of tea), where we then found out the girls had been for a walk around the Cathedral and Kath had lit a candle for her Mum’s Birthday which was a nice thought. By this time we were exhausted and were ready for us to go home. A good day had by all, I hope next time we go to Exeter the weather is better! Written by Ross Baines and Jake Hooper, published by Dom Palfreman Hello! we hope you had a nice Christmas and a Happy new year, and welcome to the first week of 2016! The January Turning Tides Radio Vibe Show is now live on MoorFM every Wednesday evening 6pm-7pm! As it’s a new year, we came together at the beginning of December to come up with some new ideas to try to put more content into the show and make it a bit more exciting!
So… This month we have had a bit of a re-vamp to the show with new additions including our own adverts, our own radio jingle to introduce the show and to end the show, and finally there is a new chart section which includes songs in the UK Top 10 Charts this week. This month also features some interviews by our members on what they enjoy doing at The Turning Tides sessions. There is still the popular usual requests feature and a sneak listen to our very own version of a ‘Wassailing’ song that we have made in partnership with Sandford Orchards Cider Company in Crediton! A ‘Wassail’ song is a traditional song which is used to promote a good apple harvest and we have been asked to accompany the Sandford Orchards cider company in performing it to their orchard. If you have heard the show and want to know any more details about us, have heard one of our adverts and are interested and want to get involved with the show, please email jake.tttp@outlook.com. Maybe you've miss previous shows? The head over to our Radio Vibe page or head on over to our Soundcloud for as we now how shows their for you to catch up on! We are always taking requests for our Request feature; if you would like to suggest something for next month’s show please write in the comments section, email jake.tttp@outlook.com or write on our Facebook wall.
