Hi, It's Rebecca here.

A while ago I wrote a poem about my family and Jane said we should make it into a song. So, today me, Jane and Eliot had tea together and Jane helped me write a song. I played piano and this is a photo of me over-dubbing the vocals (like Robbie Williams!).

The song is called Rhino Rude Rebecca. It'll be on our Respect CD but you can here it now. Here it is:
Hope you like it, Stay hot, Rebecca x

And a PS from Jane...here's a sneak preview of some the art work that Rebecca has been creating for Respect too

There is no United Kindom

With the upcoming general election this week how many of us actually get the chance to vote, and out of those who don’t how many are disabled people? We all have the right to vote so why do some say that those with a disability should not vote.

I myself have a disability and it is hurtful to think that people don’t care about my say in how our country is run. One matter in particular gets on my goat as much as all of you which is why should the SNP get the chance of power within the parliament of England when the English parliament is not allowed power in the Scottish parliament also why should Scotland have a say in the Irish parliament when the Irish parliament gets no say in the Scottish parliament.

We need an equal and fair system where all the united countries have a say in their own parliaments and not others or we all get to have a say in all the parliaments we need to stand as a united front, otherwise there is no 'United Kingdom'.

The parliament needs to consider the wants and needs of their people, too many families starve or live in poor conditions because the government has made it impossible to earn a decent wage. It is time that we are respected by our government. This government needs to stick to and honour the promises they make otherwise their words mean nothing - who here agrees with me?

Without support I would not be allowed to vote, and I am lucky to have this support but there are many with disabilities who wish to vote but are not able to vote as their support network will not enable them to get to the deed poll station - how wrong is this?!
