Under the Bridge

Yesterday a group of 14 of us spent a very lovely afternoon at OrganicARTS. We walked and talked, told stories, shared music and learnt some things about the land and the landscape. We'd like to think about using the farm as a venue for a performance... A story telling walk where you come across live and recorded performances - and there's a lovely place for playing Under the Bridge under the bridge... Watch this space :0)

Fish Blog!

Very hot sunny day, sat out in the garden happily eating marshmallow fluff, making cardboard fish cut-outs and decorating seal masks for a few sessions with Jane!

Picture

Cutting out different tropical fish shapes was great fun, and my favourite bit was decorating the examples – although my hands did get a little covered is glue :).

Picture
We decorated the fish using an amazing variety of things that Jane had managed to find in the craft store, she even found little noses for the seal masks! Looking forward to seeing all the new ways people will find to decorate the rest of the masks and fishes in the sessions!  :)

Gig Buddies are go!

Last weekend we launched Gig Buddies - 24 of us went to see The Day We Played Brazil, at the Northcott Theatre. Great show - full of energy and music - we loved it! This is us after the show (and before we ate cake) with some of the members of the cast.

Thanks to everyone who came for making it such a cool day out. Next Sunday we're off to New Town Farm, Ide - to walk and talk and make music (and, I think, eat more cake) - if you'd like to join us, we'd love to see you, there are details on the Gig Buddies page.

One Person's Trash is Another Person's Treasure

The last few months I've spent quite a lot of time in the office - writing , making calls , working on the computer... now we're getting to the good bit! Today me and Mary went and joined The Scrap Store and got loads of stuff to use at our Taster days... if you've never filled up a bin bag in The Scrap Store then you are missing out, certainly beats High Street shopping into a top hat. If you want to see all the goodies we got - come and join us in Okehampton (11th August) or Crediton (15th August) - its going to be fabulous :0)

JoJo learning the Bass to Audacity
The LA buskers had our second rehearsal at our new practice space - The Seven Stars in Winkleigh - we're using the skittle alley... The acoustics are fab, the tea is good too, the people are brilliant - we love it!

We're going to do an open, dress rehearsal next Tuesday at 3.00 - for the set we're playing at Winkleigh Summer Fayre - in the Square 4.00 on 13th... So if you'd like to here us play join us for either or both - we'd love to see you.

JoJo is our bass player - and the bass made it's first appearance at The Seven Stars today - JoJo is learning the bass line for our latest song - it's called Audacity and it may be our best song yet!
