We have been asked to create and decorate a Christmas tree for Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton - very exciting! On Friday we are going to start making some decorations with the guys from the Crediton session, and to let people know what the tree is for we've made this barcode!
If you happen to find one of these on our tree or on one of our hand made decorations then give it a scan with a QR scanner on your phone and see where it takes you! Written by Catt Kinsey We were there, right at the front!
The Boom Town Rats were awesome! The Mysterious Freak Show were fabulous and what a talented singer / songwriter Polly Money is! We're working towards having a Gig Buddies presence at every cool thing that happens anywhere near Mid-Devon. The gig was loud, crowded and we had to get in through the stage door because there are steps at the front. The security guys at the Lemon Grove were fab. It was exciting, cool, ear drum burstingly loud and a night we'll never forget. The barriers aren't insurmountable and we think it's well worth it. How about joining us next time? Watch out for events on the Gig Buddies page or better still, get in touch and tell us who you'd like to see and where you'd like to go and we'll work with you to make it happen. Written by Jane Williams A huge well done to everyone who appeared on Friday in the first performance by The Turning Tides Crediton Arts session. An invited audience were treated to a programme of original songs and dances created by the group. As well as family and friends, celebrity guests included Councillor Nick Way and Alan Quick form the Crediton Courier - so keep an eye out for us in next week's news paper. Don't be too disappointed if you missed the chance to see us live - we're planning on giving you other opportunities and in the meantime here for your entertainment are recordings of our two original songs: Today is Calm and Funky Circus Salsa. Enjoy :) Written by Jane Williams on behalf of the Crediton Friday Arts Session Today we did our first ever session at Okehampton College which we think was a great success! But don't take just our word for it... having made some poly-rhythms using body percussion, whistled a solo and used voices to create a melody and a short rap about unwanted homework, the guys gave us some great feedback! Here's a few we managed to jot down: Ben - "It was really fun, I don't want to leave" Oliver - "I will definitely do it again" Lewis - "It was brilliant" Joe - "It was really fun whistling" Even Miss Lloyd had a good time saying that she "can't wait for next week"! Just to give everyone an idea of what we did, have a listen to what the guys created in just one session Looking forward to next week already, going to create some awesome stuff using Drums and all our favourite music tracks!
