As many of you will be aware, The Turning Tides Big Band premiered on Sunday to a fantastic audience at the Congregational Church in Crediton. The set list included Baroque and Jazz pieces played by Jane Williams (saxophones) and Peter Adcock (Piano) alongside some festive classics and carols around the piano.
The Crowd were fantastic and very nearly outshone the Big Band’s own performance – fantastic carol singing at an engaging and intermittent venue! Now, to the true purpose of this Blog (rather than just praising ourselves and the audience)… We wanted to make sure you all knew how much was raised! We combined what was raised during our Shop at Tesco in Credtion, the Edwardian Evening in Okehampton and the Big Band performance to give a total so far this month and arrived at an impressive £562.38! To add to this total and the success of the performance, we have another popup shop in Okehampton on Wednesday (14th December) in the Charter Hall 7:00pm! Come along and grab a hat and have a chat! So, we need to start thinking about our next Big Band performance… I personally think we should do a funk/rap set with live rap battles, but that’s just me! We will have a montage of the performance created shortly to inspire you to think about what you would like to hear in our next Big Band performance... any thoughts now?
