This Saturday, 21st March, saw a beautifully sunny day in Crediton for the much anticipated inclusive open day at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre. Together with Mid Devon Leisure, Active Devon and Living Options we held an event for everyone to come and sample activities and creative ventures, all the sessions were free of charge and gave us all the opportunity to try something new and meet people in the area with similar interests.
The day, thanks largely to all of the organisers, session leaders, and staff at the leisure centre, was a great success and we were able to offer a range of activities for people to sample including - Taiko Drumming - Street Dance - Pilates/Yoga - Orinteering/Treasure Hunt - Football - Badmington - Aqua sessions and Swim. This list goes on but I think you can see it was a very busy day with lots of fun things to try (just check out our photos of the day) our aim was to give something that was enjoyable and accessible for everyone and we were happy with the results... Judging by everyone's faces we weren't the only ones that were happy! As we had such positive feedback from the day we are hoping to hold more events like this in more areas, and (as you may know) we will be at the Exeter Respect Festival which we are very excited about, so keep up to date with our upcoming events as we confirm new things! A huge thank you to all involved, our friends at EPIC, the organisers, volunteers and everyone who came down and got involved! We love you all!
