On Saturday 9th January, it was the EPIC day out to Exeter, which involved me (Ross), Katherine, Margaret, Vicky and Jake.
Although the weather wasn’t very good with it raining and really windy, we kept our spirits high and embraced the lovely weather. On the journey up we had a think about what we wanted to do in our day, we decided on visiting the cathedral café, stopping off for lunch and visiting a few shops as it was Kath’s mum’s birthday the next day so we needed to find a present! When we arrived, the first port of call was a warm drink and a slice of cake in the Cathedral café, which we found out was the original home of the Cathedral’s monks! Even after a slice of cake we decided we would go for lunch so we went to The Coffee Pot. Over lunch, we decided that some of us wanted to do different things; the girls wanted to shop and us boys wanted to look at guitars. We went to Mansons and I saw a really nice 4 string Ibanez bass guitar which I tried, it sounded awesome; I want one for myself now. After this we then met up with the others in Wilkinson's (for another cup of tea), where we then found out the girls had been for a walk around the Cathedral and Kath had lit a candle for her Mum’s Birthday which was a nice thought. By this time we were exhausted and were ready for us to go home. A good day had by all, I hope next time we go to Exeter the weather is better!
