Today The Turning Tides Project went to Refurnish to celebrate the two year anniversary in their current Crediton location. If you want affordable furniture then Refurnish is the place to get it. Its not all furniture though, they also sell CD’s, DVD’s, electrical appliances, bedding, clothes and just loads more cool stuff!
Refurnish is a great place to work, volunteers sort out and organise their stock, this includes decorating the Christmas tree to help customers get into the Christmas spirit! The people that work there are great, they are really friendly and welcoming. Gavin who volunteers at Refurnish had this to say “It has been good to get this job because I am working with nice people and the managers are really helpful. Since I have started to work there I have learned to be more independent and how to organise and be more tidy”. The Turning Tides project are supporting people to volunteer at Refurnish and develop employment skills. Due to this The Turning Tides Project were invited down to join the celebrations. Refurnish have been invited to attend a future Turning Tides training session along with local councillor, Heather Sansom, who was present at today's celebrations.
