A group of people who are passionate about ensuring that people with learning disabilities get greater choice from services and wider access to the community are inviting people to attend an information sharing event in Okehampton.
The aim of the event is to bring service users, their families, carers, service providers, community partners and organisations together in order to share information and discuss what opportunities are currently available and what people wish to have in their community in the future.
At a time when some services are being cut the group wants to ensure people are fully informed about what is available to them. The event, which is being held, at the Okehampton Table Tennis Club on Monday 6th October at 4pm will give people the opportunity to learn about what services are available from local providers and how to access funding for services through Direct Payments. An exciting activity will be facilitated by trained support workers alongside the event for those with a learning disability who many not wish to be involved.
Carers can be reassured that their cared for person will be well supported whilst they are at the information sharing event.
