According to the Labour Force Survey... "disabled people remain significantly less likely to be in employment than non-disabled people. In 2012, 46.3% of working-age disabled people are in employment compared to 76.4% of working-age non-disabled people. There is therefore a 30.1 percentage point gap between disabled and non-disabled people, representing over 2 million people."

The Turning Tides takes a Social Model approach to Employment and works with Businesses to make their recruitment processes and work place accessible and #Inclusive.

The Turning Tides Project works with individuals to make them work ready and find the job that they want, this includes:
  • Work Experience and Volunteering roles
  • Training
  • CV writing
  • Interview skills
  • Job searching
  • Skill development and gaining qualifications
  • Development of work ethic
  • In-work support
