EPIC is an adaptable community enabling project that supports people who have ‘Learning Disability’ and 'Autism' labels to access and be included in opportunities, activities and events of their choice that are happening within their community and beyond.

EPIC is passionate about supporting people to lead fulfilled lives and have the same choices as everybody else. We all have wants and wishes, dreams and ambitions. EPIC encourages people to think about their own ambitions, big and small, and then, with individuals and groups, works towards achieving them. It may be something like going to the pub, cinema or swimming or a more ambitious dream such as going on tour with a band or becoming a radio presenter. The EPIC attitude is…Go for it!

Being involved in the community is important to us at EPIC and is something many of us take for granted. It is where we work, socialise and indulge in our interests. It enables us all to develop friendships and relationships and gives us a sense of belonging. With better and equal access to the community, people we support will feel confident, valued, independent, empowered as citizens who have choice and control of their own lives. In turn, this will have a positive effect on our community. By adopting the Social Model approach, we reduce barriers, challenge discrimination and encourage inclusion.

Our project is very much steered by the people we support and every month our EPIC people choose to get together and do lots of nice stuff.

You may want to join in with some of the things we're doing (see our downloadable timetable at the top of the page), be supported to access the Turning Tides projects or a community event of your choice. Our flexible approach means that we can support you whenever you want 24/7. Just let us know what you need.
Being active and healthy is important, and at The Turning Tides Project we love the outdoors! Getting muddy, climbing, riding and having fun, all wrapped up in a day of adventure and adrenaline rushes.

Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Trampolining, Forest Walks, Beach-combing. Do you enjoy doing things like this or just fancy giving it a go?
Then you need to come and join us, and get that heart pumping!

There will be adventures planned for each week, and your suggestions are encouraged and very welcome. You can join us all day or just for an hour. Support is provided, although if people require additional support this can be arranged.

For updated information, please keep checking this website, the Facebook and Twitter pages.

If you have any questions or want to be part of it please contact Ben on 07452985549, or email ben.tttp@outlook.com.
