So far, no organisations or people have achieved total #Inclusiveness but there are a number of organisations and people that have demonstrated their keenness to work towards being #Inclusive:
The Turning Tides Project
We believe that we are close to being #Inclusive, the main area that we to improve in is 'Is your written information accessible?', to enable us to progress we have launched Small Talk - our Accessible Communication approach.
Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, Crediton
We run a number of our sessions at Lords Meadow, and have also developed some joint Projects with them. The staff at Lords Meadow all came on our training 'An Introduction the Social Model of Disability', we all feel very welcome at Lords Meadow where every member of staff treats us with respect and provide a high level of customer service.
Active Devon
The Project Managers that we have worked with at Active Devon are always enthusiastic when listening to our ideas, and are proactive in taking them back to their own organisation and using them to influence the development of an #Inclusive approach in Sport.
The Whitehouse, Okehampton
The Whitehouse staff are respectful and provide a high level of customer service. They have a Small Talk food menu and have an accessible recruitment and employment approach.
The Kings Arms, Okehampton
The Kings Arms in Okehampton provide a high level of customer service and treat everyone with respect. They are also very open to our ideas and keen to be a part of what we do. Without The Kings Arms, there are a lot of Sessions and Projects that we run that we otherwise would not be able to. They take an accessible approach to recruitment and everyone has equal access to the services offered.
Daisi
In addition to funding a number of inclusion in music projects that we have run in Devon schools, Daisi has commissioned our Evaluation team to produce a Small Talk Questionnaire.
Tesco, Crediton
Tesco Community Champion initiative has enabled us to set up a monthly shop and work towards an accessible recruitment approach. Tesco (Crediton) are working with us to create an accessible store and a number of their staff have attended our training.
The Crediton Country Courier
We have a monthly advert in Courier, and the Courier attend a lot of the events that we host and report on them. We have also have written our own articles for the paper and will be writing Small Talk articles/adverts in the future. The Courier will be coming and helping with skills development so that we can write as journalists.
Crediton Youth Football Club
Martin Daniel, Chairman of CYFC, has worked with TTTP to form our Football team. We have also used the Club House as a music practice venue - it is accessible and a good size for large practice groups. CYFC achieve our #InclusiveEndorsement as part of an Active Devon commissioned that involved creating an assessment tool. Martin Daniel also attended our Social Model training.
The Buccaneers Bar, Crediton
We have a weekly session in The Buccaneers. At the Buccaneers, staff treat people with respect and provide a high level of customer service and will hopefully be attending some of our training in the future. In addition to our weekly session, we have our monthly Crediton Pub Jam there and it will be the location of a forthcoming Project.
